Here is a book that is a must for anyone who is a fan of sci-fi movies of the Fabulous Fifties. Tom Weaver and his colleagues have done a superb job of covering the "Black Lagoon" trilogy from every possible angle. Some of the footnotes are even more interesting than the main text. Among other things, they have tracked down almost everyone involved with the making of those three films who was still living when the book was being written. And, when necessary, surviving relatives. The reader might consider some of the interviews a bit too lengthy and containing too many details having nothing to do with the "Black Lagoon" movies, but this is a minor flaw. Julie Adams, the Gill-Man's first leading lady (and who has since died), contributed an excellent introduction.
